Lincolnshire European Movement invites all Pro-Europeans from the six East Midlands counties of Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire and Rutland to come and join us in Nottingham on Saturday 14th October 2017 to make the positive case for our place in the European Union and to call for a halt to Brexit.
In the time since the referendum we have seen that it is as unclear as to what Brexit means as it was on 24th June 2016.
Meanwhile, the clock is ticking without any semblance of agreement as to what Brexit means for everyone living in the UK. As a result our economy is beginning to suffer due to the economic uncertainty that it is causing for investors and businesses who are used to arrangements that have been over 40 years in the making.
Furthermore many European citizens who live amongst us and play a vital role in the economy of the East Midlands face uncertainty about their own futures and some are increasingly feeling that they are unwelcome.
This is not what the 1,033,036 people in the East Midlands who voted to remain in the European Union wanted, nor can it be what those who voted to leave wanted.
As Brexit lurches ever onwards to a potential cliff edge of no agreement with the European Union, we say it is time to bring a halt to the path that our country is on.
The Lincolnshire branch of the European Movement is pleased to offer our support to the East Midlands Regional Rally which is due to take place in Nottingham under the shadow of the Brian Clough Memorial Statue on Saturday 14th October 2017 from 2pm to 5pm offering an opportunity for Pro Europeans from all walks of life and backgrounds in the East Midlands to have their voices heard.
